Server OPS Specialist – 562773
Description
In this position, you will be responsible for the distribution, installation, operations, and troubleshooting of site distributed computing environment. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Participating in hardware and/or software projects and deployment plans
- Analyzing work group systems and recommend solutions
- Executing production processes
- Performing and/or managing changes to servers and/or environment
- Managing virus protection procedures on server
- Driving day to day business needs by managing processes and/or workflow
- Responding to customer requests or events as they occur
- Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment
- Responsible for managing contingent workforce and interns
Qualifications
You should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Additional qualifications include:
- Strong computing infrastructure orientation (system administration skills)
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft* Operating System
- Excellent interpersonal and written English communication skills
- Fluent in speaking and writing in the English language
- Ability to listen, question, interpret, and clarify issues by translating customers nontechnical descriptions into technical diagnosis
- Ability to effectively work with others, up and down the organization, effectively working with peers, stakeholders, users and suppliers
- Ability to analyze problems to identify root causes and to resolve complex service problems and/or issues
- Proficient in the use of commonly utilized Microsoft* Office* suite of products
The following qualifications would be added advantages:
- Familiarity with Linux* Operating System
- Knowledge of major infrastructure Compliance, Patching and Provisioning products
- Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL)
- Microsoft* Certified Systems Engineer
- Microsoft* Certified Database Administrator
- Veritas NetBackup Certification or Experience
- Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
