Job Description :
1. DBA activities :-
* Performing daily house keeping for database.
* Creating users and granting privileges.
* Maintaining password policy & access control.
* Monitoring & Managing the Tablespaces and datafiles growth.
* Creating Tablespaces, adding datafiles.
* Creating and administrating database objects like table, views etc.
* Taking full cold database backup during downtime.
* Performing Oracle hot backups while the database is operational
* Taking Export dump for Backup purpose
* Maintaining archived Oracle data.
* Recovering & restoring the database.
* Purging of old data.
* Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database.
* Troubleshooting database related errors.
2. System Admin activities :-
* Administration and Support of 70 Sun Solaris severs & 10 IBM AIX severs across DEV/UAT/Production environments.
* Server Performance & Availability Monitoring.
* Monitoring of CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, and Disk Utilization. Proactive monitoring and reporting using AdventNet Application Manager.
* Checking system, application and VERITAS logs for any errors.
* Monitoring JVM Runtime Heap size & JVM Runtime used memory using IBM Web Sphere Admin console.
* Tuning & configuration of JVM Heap & enabling verbose garbage collection for optimal performance of Application as per recommendations by IBM.
* Collecting JAVA core & Heap dump as per the process & uploading the same to IBM FTP site.
* Configuring account policy, access rights, password control.
* User modification, addition & updation using IBM Tivoli Directory Server.
* Administration of VERITAS cluster server for maintaining high availability.
* Freezing & Unfreezing VERITAS cluster & start / stop of Web Sphere application server during scheduled maintenance window.
* Checking VERITAS volume replication (VVR) status from Primary to DR.
* Performing DR Simulation test and full failover test using VERITAS cluster server.
* Configuration of Notifier in VERITAS clusters for any failover notification.
